Dr Mottram is a clinical cardiologist who is recognised nationally as an expert in the assessment of cardiac function with echocardiography.
Dr Mottram has a PhD in advance cardiac Imaging and is co-author of more than 50 peer-reviewed journal articles. Dr Mottram has particular expertise in stress echocardiography for the assessment of patients at increased cardiovascular risk, and patients with chest pain syndromes or exertional dyspnoea where a cardiac cause may be suspected.
Dr Mottram's other clinical interests include general clinical cardiology, heart failure and the assessment of valvular heart disease with transoesophageal echocardiography.
Dr Mottram also has a strong interest in assessment of coronary artery disease and cardiac abnormalities with cardiac CT and currently holds Level B accreditation for cardiac CT with the CSANZ.
At present, Dr Mottram is Head of Non-Invasive Cardiac Imaging at Monash Heart, Southen Health and is also an Associate Professor of Medicine at Monash University.
Philip has 3 children, and enjoys family holidays, reading and keeping fit.
