Dr Georgia Soldatos completed her MBBS with first class honours in 1997 and obtained the highest aggregate mark in the year. She went on to do her intern and residency years within the Southern Health Care Network. She commenced advanced training in Endocrinology in 2002 and spent her first clinical year at the Alfred Hospital. This was followed by a year split between the Monash Medical Centre and Dandenong Hospital. In 2004, Dr Soldatos enrolled in a PhD through the Department of Medicine at Monash University. She is currently investigating the role of advanced glycation end products in diabetic vascular disease and hopes to complete her thesis by the start of next year.
During the course of her PhD, she has maintained an affiliation with both the Alfred Hospitals and Monash Medical Centre. She regularly consults in the Diabetic Crises Clinic as well as the Young Adolescent Diabetes Service of the Southern Health Care Network. While she enjoys managing the multiple and often complex problems associated with diabetes, Dr Soldatos also has a strong interest in general endocrinology, particularly thyroid disorders.
Dr Soldatos is an enthusiastic, young endocrinologist who thrives on the challenges of clinical medicine and is fluent in Greek for those patients who are non-English speaking.
