Amanuel completed specialist training at Monash Medical Centre. He gained his fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2007. He then worked at Western Health as a full time consultant in Respiratory and General Medicine.

Amanuel has been working privately in the Bayside area since 2009. He has an interest in general respiratory diseases including asthma, COPD, respiratory infections, lung cancer and provides a bronchoscopy service and complex lung functioning testing.

Amanuel is also interested in sleep related disorders including sleep apnoea, insomnia and performs sleep studies. He is also a General physician and admits patients to Linacre, Holmesglen Private and Cabrini Brighton hospitals.
